The Lusaka Magistrates’ Court has extended the bench warrant for Patriotic Front (PF) Information and Publicity Chairperson, Emmanuel Mwamba, who is facing charges of assaulting a police officer.
The warrant, initially issued in February 2025, was prolonged due to Mr Mwamba’s continued absence from court, with the prosecution stating that the warrant has not been executed.
Mr Mwamba allegedly assaulted Detective Inspector Steven Simwenda on June 14, 2023, in Lusaka. The PF leader is currently in the United States and has failed to appear in court. The matter has been adjourned to November 28, 2025, for mention.
Mr Mwamba is also facing another charge of disorderly conduct at a police station.
This development adds to the ongoing legal challenges for the PF leader.
