A Lusaka-based Chinese businessman, Simon Huang, has been fined K1,200 by the Lusaka Magistrates’ Court for selling shoes with a forged Puma trademark.
Huang was found guilty of trading in 95 pairs of shoes with a fake Puma SE mark, contrary to Section 6(1)(9) of the Merchandise Marks Act of the Laws of Zambia.
He admitted to selling the counterfeit shoes between July and August 2025.
The court ordered the shoes to be forfeited. Puma SE proprietor Paulus Ramara had reported shops in Lusaka were selling counterfeit shoes using the company’s trademark.
Chief Resident Magistrate Idah Phiri convicted Huang based on his admission of the offence.
