Young people in CHITAMBALA village around turnoff area of Kapiri Mposhi district have been trained in Health Education Rights (HER) by Family Development Initiatives FDI an Islamic inspired non governmental organization with support from UNESCO.
The Organization has been conducting Sexual Reproductive and Health Rights SRHR in the district and is training young people especially girls on early and unintended pregnancies.
The training which was dubbed “let’s talk pregnancy at the right time” was conducted by Mutaba Health Center Adolescent Focal point Person Olivia Lungu.
Ms. Lungu appealed to young people to access Sexual Reproductive and Health services at various health facilities dotted across the district.
She said teenage and unintended pregnancies are on the rise in the district and this calls for concerted efforts among the stakeholders in order to reduce on the vice.
Ms. Lungu further advised parents and guardians to always have time for their children and talk to them on matters bordering on Sexual Reproductive and Health.
And CHITAMBALA village headwoman CHITAMBALA said technology has contributed significantly to moral decay among peers.
Head woman CHITAMBALA said children are misusing smart phones by watching obscene movies instead of utilizing the gadgets for productive issues.
She appealed to parents not to tire monitoring what their children watch on their phones to reduce on the rate of early or unintended pregnancies.
