Kapiri Mposhi, 4th November 2025 – Christian Women Rock (CWR) successfully conducted a Malaria Awareness Roadshow in Kapiri Mposhi District to mark the beginning of the SADC Malaria Week Commemoration under the theme: “Resilient Health Systems and Communities: Key to Malaria Elimination.”
The flagging-off ceremony took place at Soweto Crossing and was officiated by the District Commissioner’s Office, represented by the District Administrative Officer (DAO), Mr. Mulenga Kaunda, who was accompanied by the Assistant to the District Commissioner (ADC), Mr. Lemmy Siwale.

In his remarks, Mr. Kaunda emphasized the Government’s unwavering commitment to eradicating malaria through the Ministry of Health’s extensive network of health facilities, dedicated staff, availability of medicines, and distribution of preventive commodities such as mosquito nets. He also commended Christian Women Rock and other partners for their continued efforts and contributions toward malaria elimination in the district and province at large.
Among those present were Mr. Lufwendo Mwenda, Malaria Elimination Officer from the Kapiri Mposhi District Health Office; Ms. Victoria Machila, Malaria Elimination Project Manager at Christian Women Rock; and Mr. Manfred Zulu, Malaria Elimination Project Officer (Kapiri Mposhi), alongside key stakeholders, community leaders, and residents.
The roadshow procession moved from Soweto Crossing to Matilyo and later to Kawama, engaging communities through entertainment and education. The event featured dancing and singing competitions, where winners were rewarded with mosquito nets as a symbol of malaria prevention and community participation.
The event concluded on a high note, with the Guest of Honour, representatives from the Kapiri Mposhi District Health Office, and the Christian Women Rock team reaffirming their joint commitment to a malaria-free Zambia.
