Government is to set-up two international airports in Central Province.
Central Province Permanent Secretary Dr Milner Mwanakampwe made the announcement during the quadrennial conference in Kabwe for National Union OF Aviation and Allied Workers NUAAW in Kabwe.
Dr Mwanakampwe disclosed that Kapiri Mposhi and Kabwe districts will have soon have international airports by 2027.
Dr Mwanakampwe further revealed that Kapiri Mposhi district has been nominated as a center of excellence adding that it will have facilities like a cargo airport.
He also disclosed that eleven thousand hectres of land has already been identified.
And Dr Mwanakampwe says government prioritizes the aviation industry for economic growth, connectivity, trade ,tourism and job creation.
The Permanent Secretary has also called on trade unions to invest in capacity building of the workers.
