Govt pays out K30m to Social Cash Transfer and Drought Emergency Cash Transfer beneficiaries

Government has paid out over 30 million Kwacha to 130,456 beneficiaries in Lusaka, Chongwe and Rufunsa districts.

The beneficiers paid are those who experienced delays during the November and December 2024 Payments Cycle for both Social Cash Transfers and Drought Emergency Cash Transfers.

The Ministry of Community Development and Social Services recently disbursed funds amounting to 15,682,400 hundred Kwacha for payment of social Cash Transfers.

And 14,887,200 Kwacha for Drought Emergency Cash Transfers to beneficiaries who experienced delays during the November December Payments Cycle in Lusaka, Rufunsa and Chongwe Districts.

Lusaka Province Principal Public Relations Officer, LOGIC LUKWANDA has confirmed to ZNBC News that payments are being done by ZANACO through cash in transit services.

The payments are targeting beneficiaries that have not yet been migrated to the digital payment platform.
