The inter-Zone sporting event has kick off in Kapiri Mposhi at Lukanda primary and secondary school.
Gracing the said event at the Lukanda school ground, Kapiri Mposhi District Education Board Secretary DEBS Boaz Banda stated that this sports function contributes to the growth of sports rather than learners merely focusing on academia.
Mr Banda pointed out that such an event blends well with the new curriculum in the education sector.
He stressed further that this also helps to identify the potential talents of young learners in various sporting discipline.
At the same function, Dean of School Headteachers for Kapiri Mposhi district Chrispin Mukamba has shade more light on the extracurricular activities taking place with athletics being the centre stage.
He indicated that this should not just end with such school sports functions but that even in different communities this must be taken up.
20 Zones from across a number of schools are participating in this very event.
