BM8 Tonse Alliance Kapiri Mposhi Parliamentary aspirant Godfrey Chanda Kangwa has charged that the grading of the Kawama stretch is no doubt politically driven.
Godfrey Chanda Kangwa, BM8 Tonse Alliance Kapiri Mposhi Parliamentary Aspirant, has dismissed the current road works on Kawama road as a late and politically motivated move.
In an interview with KBC news, Mr Kangwa states that the project was initially undertaken by PF government in 2016-2017, with his company Asphalt Zambia involved as a subcontractor. He alleges the current regime abandoned the project, only to restart it now for political gain.
“The grading of Kawama road is a mere deviation to allow smooth passage of the Lusaka-Ndola dual carriageway,” Kangwa said. “The same township roads completion is overdue, and now it’s a political game to hoodwink suffering Kapiri Mposhi electorates.”
Mr Kangwa, who says initiated the township road network inventory in 2004-2005, questions the funding source, suggesting the ruling party is using toll fees concession moneys.
He has accused the government of “messing up the country” and prioritizing politics over development.
Additionally Mr Kangwa has lashed out at those jubilating over this when it was a project earlier initiated under the past immediate PF regime who derserves commendation.
And Chief government spokesperson Cornelius Mweetwa was unavailable for a comment as his mobile line was outside coverage.
