Government has officially commissioned Likumbi health post maternity annex in Kapiri Mposhi’s Mubofwe ward under the 2024 Constituency Development Fund CDF. The project gobbled a total of K750,000. Gracing the event Kapiri Mposhi District Commissioner Francis Hasalama encouraged expectant mothers against going for home self delivery saying the vice is too risky to opt for adding that seeking health services is the best and safer for them. And Kapiri Mposhi Town Council Chairperson Brilliant Munyeke stressed that Likumbi health facility will in due course be upgraded into a mini hospital. Mr Munyeke also called for cooperation among the community members. He assured the residents there that his office is considering submitting a formal request for replanning for settlement to allow for expansion. At the same handover event, Oscar Mwenda representing Kapiri Mposhi District Health Director Evaristo Miyoba equally urged expectant mothers to refrain from self delivery.
