KAPIRI MPOSHI PARLIAMENTARY ASPIRANT CALLS ON YOUTHS TO SEEK DECISION MAKING POSITIONS IF THEY ARE TO REMAIN RELEVANT

Aspiring Member of Parliament for Kapiri Mposhi constituency Brian Chiinza has noted that there are several factors that hinders the full participation of young people in affairs of governance and decision making.

Mr Chiinza who is also the current Africa Youth Congress Chairperson for Zambia chapter cited among the factors acting as barriers to youth participation being intimidation, political violence and the commercialization of the prevailing scenario of the political landscape.

In an interview with KBC news, Mr Chiinza was however quick to note that young persons are overcoming these notable challenges.

He also added calling for consideration during the undertaking of the constitutional amendment process to ensure that certain clauses which speaks to a larger sect of youths to be absorbed across political parties especially those vying for elective positions.
