The local leadership in Kapiri Mposhi has bemoaned the shortfall in scales for weighing of the maize grain. Town Council Chairperson Brilliant Munyeke has disclosed that most farmers who have currently supplied maize to the Food Reserve Agency FRA at Riverside depot have also complained of insufficient empty bags. In an interview with KBC news, Mr Munyeke has called on the FRA to work towards provision of sufficient scales to enable the weigh-in process of maize be made efficient. He says it is sad that many farmers are now scrambling for empty bags.
