MOIC-LN CONSORTIUM LIMITED/ AVIC INTERNATIONAL DONATES ESSENTIAL SANITATION SUPPLIES WORTH K20,000 TO KAPIRI MPOSHI POLICE STATION.

AVIC INTERNATIONAL has handed over essential sanitation supplies worth K20,000 to Kapiri mposhi police station.

Receiving the donation on behalf of government, kapiri mposhi district commissioner Francis HASALAMA expressed gratitude for the gesture by AVIC INTERNATIONAL through MOIC-LN Consortium Limited for making the donation of cleaning materials at a crucial time to fight against cholera and other water borne diseases.

Mr. HASALAMA said public health remains a major concern more especially during the rain season.

He said the donation will significantly improve the health and safety conditions of suspects in custody, police officers and the general public at the police station.

Mr. HASALAMA said the commitment by MOIC-LN CONSORTIUM LIMITED to donate cleaning materials through corporate social responsibility demonstrates love and care for the people of ZAMBIA saying it is highly commendable as it resonates well with the government’s policy of keeping Zambia clean.

He has reiterated his call by government to foster cooperation with various companies and other stakeholders through Public Private Partnership to improve the welfare of the people at all levels.

And MOIC-LN CONSORTIUM LIMITED project manager Mike Chao said prevention for cholera in the country is very crucial and that is why his company has decided to donate to the police in helping to curb the spread of the disease to both the police and inmates.

Meanwhile, kapiri mposhi district Officer Commanding Victor MATEYO expressed gratitude to MOIC-LN CONSORTIUM LIMITED for the donation made to the police in the district saying it will go a long way in cleaning especially the cells in order to prevent water borne diseases.

Mr. MATEYO also highlighted some challenges the police is facing like water reticulation system, infrastructure as well as the land scaping which requires urgent attention.

He said luck of a correctional facility is also a challenge not only to the police but other law enforcement agencies who all bring their suspects, convicts and remandees to the same facility before they can be sent to kabwe.

Mr. MATEYO has appealed to relevant authorities to quickly look into the matter so that congestion issues at the police can be reduced.

The kapiri mposhi district Officer Commanding thanked the government for procuring a utility vehicle but said it is not enough to cater for the all district saying security matters are urgent which requires more vehicles in order for the command to fulfill their mandate of curbing crime in the community.
