The Government has urged newly enrolled beneficiaries under the Social Cash Transfer (SCT) Programme to embrace digital payment platforms as part of efforts to improve efficiency, transparency, and accountability in service delivery. The move follows the successful expansion of the programme, which is now reaching over 1.5 million beneficiary households nationwide.
The Ministry of Community Development and Social Services has commenced the migration of beneficiaries from manual payment systems to digital platforms in a bid to enhance convenience and ensure timely disbursement of funds.
Glenda Nachinga the line Ministry Principal Public Relations Officer made the disclosure in an interview stating that all newly enrolled beneficiaries are required to select a Payment Service Provider of their choice, including Airtel, MTN, Zamtel, Zoona, and selected commercial banks such as First National Bank, Access Bank, Zanaco, Absa, Indo Zambia Bank, and Natsave.
Beneficiaries have been advised to visit their respective District Social Welfare Offices to complete the registration process and provide the required personal details, with Government reaffirming its commitment to ensuring that no eligible beneficiary is left behind during the transition.
