Now is the time for the opposition to genuinely merge as a united front for the sake of Zambians- Howard Kunda

Zambia Wake Up party ZAWAPA President Howard Kunda says it is high time that the opposition merge as a united front.

Mr Kunda hopes that the opposition could form one formidable alliance for the sake of honouring the late former Sixth President Edgar Lungu.

He stressed that once this is formalized and done the opposition stands a higher chance of dislodging the UPND administration in the 2026 general elections.

Mr Kunda who is also the son to the late former republican vice president George Kunda, expressed optimism that Zambians can triumph over the economic misery they have been subjected under the new administration who only claim to be transforming people’s livelihoods when infact not.

Mr Kunda alleged that very little has been done to uplift the Zambians with the majority still living under the poverty line adding that he wonders why the UPND has even been bragging.

And Mr Kunda says Zambians are now relieved over the protracted tension that engulfed the governing and the Lungu family regarding the repatriation of ECL’s remains.

He says it is a step well done following the reached agreement between the two key concerned parties to allow a befitting send off for the late former Head of State Edgar Lungu.

Mr Kunda was speaking in an exclusive interview with KBC news via telephone.
