A 34-year-old Pastor of Chipata has been arrested for allegedly defiling a 15-year-old girl whom he lured to his house and later gave a K50 to stay quiet.
The victim was lured to Victor Raphael Kalima’s house through text message while she was in church during Sunday worship.
Mr. Kalima who is also a Prophet at Christ Grace Ministry Church is alleged to have texted the victim while his wife who is also a Pastor was preaching at the named church.
Eastern Province Commanding officer Robertson Mweemba said the incident occurred on Sunday, April 27, this year.
Mr Mweemba said the incident occurred at Hills view township, where the suspect lives.
“Brief facts of the matter are that on the material date, the victim went to the above named Church since she’s a congregant there. While in Church, she received a phone call from the accused person who invited her to his place while his wife was preaching,” he said.
Mr. Mweemba explained that the victim then booked a motor bike which took her to the suspects place.
He said while there, the suspect took her to one of the bedrooms where he offered her chocolate ice cream.
“She told him that she does not like chocolate flavour. Thereafter, he gave her water. From there he undressed her and caressed her before having carnal knowledge of her. She later found herself naked. That was how he sent a K50 to her Airtel money account and she went home,” he said.
Mr Mweemba further explained however, that because of the victims fear to contract the virus and to become pregnant, she decided to report the ordeal.
