State House has clarified that President Hakainde Hichilema did not issue any directive to stop Christian worshippers from holding an overnight vigil led by Apostle Sunday Sinyangwe.
Chief Communications Specialist Clayson Hamasaka said the President upholds Zambia’s freedom of worship and has ordered an investigation into the incident.
He emphasized that President Hichilema remains committed to promoting faith, unity, and peaceful coexistence among all Zambians.
Yesterday police disperse thousands of prayer warriors attending overnight prayers gathering ahead of the country’s 61th independence.
Zambia police officers were unleashed on the event organised by Apostle Sinyangwe pastor and the founder of the Standing in the Gap Team Prayer Ministry and Shalom Embassy Ministries International.
Hundreds of worshippers and prayer warriors were asked to go back home at the Standing in the Gap’s night of freedom overnight meeting at OYDC due to event crashing with Government’s Program.
The announcement was made around 21:00hrs when throngs of Lusaka residents from various compounds had already gathered at the venue.
AND a word from Apostle Sunday Sinyangwe failed as his mobile line was off but our KBC news team contacted a renowned Clergyman Professor Bishop Dr Joshua Banda who however expressed ignorance about the whole matter.
