The Tanzania‑Zambia Railway Authority (TAZARA) is set to bring back the Mukuba Passenger Train to full swing from 19 November 2025.
In a statement issued to KBC news by Annette Chanshika, Public Relations Officer for TAZARA’s Zambia Cost and Profit Centre in Mpika, the railway authority outlined the new timetable and apologised for the recent disruption.
Re‑commencement schedule is as follows 19 Nov 2025 Departure from Chozi Station at 09:00 hours, heading to Nakonde.
ON 19 Nov 2025 After arrival in Nakonde, the train is set to return to its regular route, departing Nakonde at 18:00 hours bound for New Kapiri Mposhi.
The service on 21 Nov 2025 reverts to its standard weekly schedule, leaving New Kapiri Mposhi at 12:00 hours.
The authority notes that the temporary halt was necessitated by operational difficulties, a situation that has been communicated in earlier public notices .
TAZARA says it has now resolved the underlying issues and is ready to welcome passengers back on board.
