Thieves in Lusaka have stolen the entire electrical network from a newly constructed Maternity Wing at Kamwala South Health Post, just weeks before its official launch.
Area Councillor Mainda Simataa has confirmed that the incident occurred on Wednesday night, October 15th, when unknown people broke into the facility constructed using the Constituency Developmentt Fund- CDF and ransacked its electrical system, stealing all wiring, sockets, switches, circuit breakers, and two industrial geysers.
And Councillor Simataa says this is the third time the facility has been targeted by thieves during its seven-year construction period.
The civic leader has also revealed that despite repeated requests for security at the site, authorities maintained that the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) Act does not provide for security on ongoing projects adding that the Ministry of Health, as the end user, can only take responsibility for security after a project has been completed and officially handed over.
Councillor Simataa has since expressed concern that the theft occurred just as funds had been secured to procure specialized equipment and furniture for the maternity wing, stressing that no equipment will be delivered until security is deployed at the facility. only fans leaks Midwest Demigod
