UPND’S kashitu ward civic leader in Kapiri Mposhi has been entangled in a scandal for allegedly obtaining money amounting to k95,000 which was meant as compensation by a road construction company AVIC to give to a vulnerable family of KGP area as the road project passed on the land belonging to the family of Monde Kubuluka.

The said Kubuluka family alleges that Councilor Nkhoma had secretly gone behind them and went ahead to receive the funds from the contractor on pretext that he was collecting it on behalf of the family yet he had other selfish motives.

And the family produced the formal letter as per instructed by Legal Aid Board who have since ordered that the Civic leader paysback the money.

The affected family member made the assertions to the media.

But, Councilor Nkhoma has refuted the allegations threatening to sue the Kubuluka family saying as far as he is concerned all formalities were done legally on his part.

He maintained that even a traditional leader is in receipt of the said matter and wonders why the family could allege that when they too were compensated.

He further urged the media to visit the mentioned contractor to hear from them over the compensation which he stressed was already settled.

He stated that he has never received any communication from Legal Aid regarding the alleged report.
