Kapiri Mposhi District Commissioner Francis Hasalama has expressed satisfaction with the progress made on the construction of Chief Nkole’s palace.
Mr Hasalama disclosed to KBC news that the project is between 95 and 97 percent complete and will soon be ready for the chief to occupy.
He commended the contractors for delivering work of high standards, noting that the palace is befitting for a traditional leader.
The District Commissioner further observed that the construction of such facilities demonstrates respect for traditional leadership, adding that chiefs deserve to live in dignified and comfortable homes.
Mr Hasalama also noted that traditional leaders play a critical role in governance at the grassroots level, particularly in maintaining peace, promoting development, and preserving cultural values within their chiefdoms.
He emphasized that providing decent infrastructure for chiefs enables them to effectively carry out their responsibilities and serve their communities with pride and confidence.
