ZAFOD CRYS FOR INCLUSIVITY THAT IS PRACTICAL

Zambia Federation of Disabilities Organisations ZAFOD has challenged service providers countrywide to apply practical steps towards matters of inclusion with regards persons with disabilities. ZAFOD director Justine Mbakali has observed with sadness that inclusivity should not just be on paper but should speak to reality so that such groups can feel a part in contributing towards national development. Speaking in an interview with KBC news, Mr Mbakali laments that all persons with disabilities requires respect and dignity if they are to feel a sense of belonging to society. He stated that there is need to have wider engagement with such groups especially in productivity matters. He stressed that persons with disabilities must not always be viewed as vulnerable bracket groups. The Federation Director further notes that persons who are physically incapacitated also requires equitable opportunities across all aspects. He furthermore challenged duty bearers against merely being rhetoric lest their utterances will be rendered meaningless. Ends READ MORE
