HANDS OFF SIKAZWE, STAKEHOLDERS WARN.

by | Mar 20, 2026 | NEWS | 0 comments

Concerns are mounting over alleged attempts to draw retired FIFA referee,Kapiri Mposhi based Janny Sikazwe into a scheme said to be aimed at destabilizing Zambian football.
Sikazwe, a highly respected official who has officiated at the FIFA World Cup and handled high-profile fixtures including the Africa Cup of Nations final, is reportedly being targeted by what sources have described as an “invisible hand.”
The alleged scheme is believed to be pushing for orchestrated resignations within the Football Association of Zambia.
According to preliminary investigations, certain individuals opposed to the current FAZ administration may be working behind the scenes to trigger internal upheavals, a move observers warn could disrupt the stability and progress of the game.
“This is a dangerous path for our football. Any attempts to manipulate respected figures like Sikazwe for ulterior motives must be rejected outright,” a football stakeholder said.
Another source familiar with the matter added, “There appears to be a coordinated effort to create instability within FAZ. Zambian football cannot afford to go backwards at a time when the game is making strides.”
Football stakeholders have since called on well-meaning Zambians to remain vigilant and reject any efforts that threaten the integrity of the sport.
