Christian Women Rock on Saturday April 25, 2026 led the Kapiri Mposhi community to mark World Malaria Day which was anchored under the theme ‘’’Driven to end malaria: Now we can: Now we must.
In this vain, Christian Women Rock in collaboration with the Ministry of Health organized a thrilling Soccer tournament for the local derby between Kapiri Bullets and Kapiri United held at Lukanda secondary school aimed at carrying the message to eradicating malaria across different communities.
Christian Women Rock executive director, Mercy Moyo expressed joy that many sector players do acknowledge the importance of stamping out malaria.
Ms Moyo shared some of the preventive measures to combatting malaria.
She also challenged the private sector to get involved in the fight against malaria which has since been classified universally as a deadly disease.
And officiating at same the function, Kapiri Mposhi District Commissioner Francis Hasalama through his representative the Malaria Elimination Officer Lufwendo Mwenda called upon every general citizenry to take personal responsibility if the battle against malaria is to be conquered.
Mr Hasalama is saddened that annually numerous young children and expectant mothers die out of malaria cases thus requires concerted efforts to combat.
