A 40-year-old unemployed man, Nivel Sinywimanzi, and a 33-year-old taxi driver, Ngosa Kaluba, appeared in the Kapiri Mposhi Magistrates’ Court for vandalizing a ZESCO transformer worth over K423,000.
The duo is charged under Section 34 ID (I) (2) (c) (e) of the Penal Code, which outlines consequences for vandalism of public property. They pleaded to the charge before Magistrate Mutete Chizawu.

The case was adjourned to May 21st, 2026, for mention and possible committal, with the accused remanded in police custody.
And a ZESCO Prosecutor Prisca Lisa Mwanza sought an adjournment, citing the need for committal from the DPP’s office.
